Food Safety: AERZEN has the ISO 22000

Food safety is all about prevention with effective risk management

21/04/2020

AERZEN has the ISO 22000. The certificate is valid for all blowers, screw blowers and compressors built by the traditional company AERZEN at its headquarters in Lower Saxony. The management system for food safety unifies the standards landscape at international level. AERZEN is one of the first companies in the compressed air industry worldwide to comply with ISO 22000 - and, thus, underlines the importance of product safety, especially in the food industry.

Process air solutions from AERZEN are used in many ways in the food and feed industry. The confidence of plant manufacturers and manufacturing final customers is correspondingly high. With ISO 22000 certification, the technology leader is taking process safety to a new level in numerous food-related applications. Typical applications are the pneumatic conveying of powders and granulates, as well as the loosening of bulk materials.

Contaminations are excluded: especially in the food industry, it is crucial to be able to rely on process air. It must be absolutely free from impurities such as oil, abrasion or insulating material. For a good reason, for example, AERZEN has developed silencers without insulating material according to the reaction principle and equips them with a special spark arrester in view of explosion protection.

With the uniform framework for action, risks in the direct and indirect environment of the food production chain can be safely identified. The structured identification of potential hazards, then, forms the basis for effective risk management. As already successfully practiced in other management standards, the continuous improvement process (CIP) is an essential tool for sustainable process improvements in ISO 22000.

For AERZEN, the certification according to ISO 22000 represents in this context a further international component for product safety.
